What we collect, why we have it, and how long we keep it.

Forever Flooring is a family run flooring company in Franklin, Tennessee. This page explains what happens to the information you send us through this website. It is short on purpose, because there is not much to it: what we need to quote your job, and a count of how many people visit the site.

What We Collect

Everything we hold about you personally comes from the quote form on our contact page. If you never fill it in, we never learn who you are. The one other thing the site records is a count of visits, which does not name anybody, and that is described further down under cookies and analytics. When you do send the form, we receive:

  • Your name and email address, which the form requires.
  • Your phone number, if you give us one.
  • The location of the project.
  • The kind of flooring you are asking about.
  • Whether the job is residential or commercial.
  • Whether stairs are involved.
  • Anything you write in the message box.

Alongside that we record two technical details: the country the request came from, and the name of the browser you used. Both exist to tell a real enquiry from a wave of spam, and neither identifies you.

We do not keep your IP address. It is the one detail you would not have chosen to give us, so we leave it alone.

Why We Have It

To answer you. Your enquiry goes straight to Justin so he can call you back, talk through materials, price the work, and arrange a time to come and measure. That is the whole purpose.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising, we do not add you to a mailing list, and nobody outside our company sees your enquiry except the two companies that carry it to us, both named further down.

How Long We Keep It

We keep quote requests for as long as we are doing business with you. A floor is rarely one conversation. People price a room, think it over, and come back a season or a year later, and when they do we would rather still have the details than make you type them out again.

We do not run a deletion clock, and we would rather tell you that than name a date we do not keep to. What we do promise is simpler: ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, whenever you like.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people come to the site and which pages they look at. That is the whole reason it is here: so we know whether the website is doing its job. There are no advertising tags on this site, nothing follows you to other websites, and we do not sell or share what it tells us.

So that a second visit counts as the same person rather than a new one, Google Analytics stores a couple of cookies in your browser. They hold a random number, not your name. What we get back is numbers and patterns: how many visits, which pages, roughly which part of the country, and which links people arrived from. It also counts how often our phone number gets tapped, so we know whether people who find the site go on to call. It does not tell us who you are, it does not record the call itself, and nothing you type into the quote form is ever sent to Google or tied to a visit.

Google works your rough location out from your IP address and then discards the address rather than storing it. We never see it.

If you would rather not be counted, you can opt out. Google publishes a browser add-on that switches Google Analytics off on every site you visit, and most browsers and ad blockers will block it for you as well. Nothing on this site stops working if you do, and the quote form works exactly the same either way.

Our contact page also shows a Google map of where we are. It only loads if you scroll far enough down to see it, and when it does, Google may set its own cookies, just as it would if you had opened Google Maps yourself. Nothing about your visit comes back to us through it. It is there to show you where we are, and that is all it does.

Keeping the Form Working

The quote form is protected by a spam check from Cloudflare called Turnstile, which is the quiet replacement for those click every traffic light puzzles. It may leave a short lived token in your browser to confirm you are a person. It does not track you.

Occasionally that check gets it wrong and turns away a real customer, usually because the network hiccuped or a browser blocked it. When that happens we hold onto the enquiry rather than throwing it away, so a genuine request is not simply lost, and we go through those by hand. It is not emailed anywhere until we can see it came from a person, and it is held on the same terms as everything else here.

Who Else Handles It

Two companies touch your enquiry on the way to us, both only for that purpose:

  • Cloudflare hosts this website, stores the quote requests, and runs the spam check described above.
  • Resend delivers the email that lands in our inbox.

Neither of them uses your enquiry for anything of their own, and no one else receives it.

Google is the one other company involved in the site, and it never sees your enquiry. It counts visits for us, as described further up, and that is all it gets.

Asking Us to Delete It

Call or email and we will delete your enquiry. There is no form for it and no waiting period. You can also ask what we hold and we will simply tell you.

If you would rather not send anything through the website at all, the phone works just as well, and always has.

Changes to This Page

If what we collect ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.

Questions About Any of This

Ask us. We would rather answer a question about your details than have you wonder.
